Get started
Start from a template
Copy a finished, working app into a new project of your own without running the AI, then make it yours by chatting.
A template is a real, working app built by Buildliy: a salon booking site, an online store, a client portal and more. Starting from one copies the whole app into a new project of your own. No AI runs, so starting it is free; while the app's live preview is running, it uses a small amount of credit. Then you change anything you like by chatting, just as you would with an app you built from scratch.
Templates are a good start when your idea is close to one of them, or when you want to see what a finished Buildliy app looks like before you write your own prompt.
Where to find templates
- Templates in the left sidebar of your dashboard.
- The or start from a template link under the new-app box on your dashboard.
- The Templates section of the Buildliy home page, which shows six of them. Click Browse all 12 templates to see the rest.
- The public templates page at buildliy.com/templates, which you can browse before you have an account.
Each gallery has filters along the top: All, Business, App, Commerce, Marketing, Content and Personal.
Preview a template
Click any template card (or hover and click Live preview) to open its live demo. It's the real app, running, so you can click through every page, fill in forms and try its features.
In the demo viewer you can:
- Switch between Desktop, Tablet and Phone sizes.
- Move to the previous or next template in the category you picked with the arrow buttons, or the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard.
- Open the demo in a new tab.
- On a wide screen, read the panel beside the demo: what the template is, its main features, its Pages you can jump to (for templates with more than one page), and What you get.

Pick a template
Click Use template on its card, or Use this template in the demo viewer.
Sign in if you need to
If you're not signed in, you're taken to sign-up first. Once your account is ready, Buildliy goes back to the templates page and opens the template for you ("Opening the … template…").
Your new project opens
The chat shows a welcome message from Buildliy that explains what the app does, what is sample content, and what isn't live yet. Just above the chat box are a couple of suggested next steps; click one to put it in the box, ready to edit and send. While your copy starts up, the preview says Setting up your template…. This usually takes 20 to 60 seconds. No AI runs; the live preview uses a small amount of credit while it's running.
Your copy is completely yours: the full app and all of its code, with its own app map, data map and launch checklist already filled in. Changing it never affects the template or anyone else's copy.
To start a template you need a confirmed email address. On the Free plan you also need at least 1 credit in your balance, although none is used. There's a limit on how many templates you can start in an hour.
Check what's sample and what's live
Templates are built to look and feel finished, but many of their features are demos until you ask for the real thing. Read the welcome message in your new project. It tells you exactly what applies to your template. For example:
- The Salon Booking Site saves bookings in each visitor's own browser, so you don't receive them yet, and its appointments page isn't private.
- The Online Store checkout is a demo: no payment is taken and orders aren't saved anywhere yet.
- The Client Portal sign-in is a demo: any email gets in, and every visitor sees the same sample client.
- Names, prices, photos, reviews and numbers are examples to replace with your own.
Before you share a template-based app with real customers, ask Buildliy to save data to a real database, add sign-in where pages should be private, and connect payments or email where the welcome message says they aren't live yet.

Make it yours
Tell Buildliy about your business in the chat, and it rewrites the template around you. Each request is a normal build and uses credits.
Change the name to Bloom Studio, our services to cuts, colour and styling with my prices, and our team to Ana, Jess and Tom.
Save bookings to a database and email me each new one. Use Resend.
Emails from your app go through an email service you connect, such as Resend. The AI asks you to connect it when it's needed. See Send email from your app.
Add a login so only my team can see the appointments page.
Make it for my landscaping business instead of painting.
For quick wording and color changes, click the pencil icon above the preview and edit the page directly. Changes you make yourself there don't use credits. See Edit by clicking.
Templates and idea chips
The Start with an idea chips under the box on the home page aren't templates. Clicking one writes an example request into the box, and sending it starts a fresh AI build that uses credits. A template, by contrast, is a finished app copied as it is, without running the AI.
You can't submit your own templates to the gallery yet. Every template in it is made and curated by Buildliy.
