Get started
Create your account
Sign up, confirm your email, sign in and out, reset a forgotten password, and see what a new free account includes.
You need a Buildliy account to build an app. Creating one is free and doesn't need a card. This page covers signing up, confirming your email, signing in and out, and what you get on the Free plan.
Ways to sign up
| Method | What happens |
|---|---|
| Continue with Google | You approve Buildliy on Google's page and come straight back, signed in. Your email is already confirmed. |
| Continue with GitHub | Same as Google, using your GitHub account. |
| Email and password | You enter your name, email and a password of at least 8 characters, then confirm your email with a link we send you. |
Creating an account means you agree to Buildliy's Terms and Privacy policy.
Create your account
Open the sign-up page
Click Start free at the top right of the Buildliy website. If you typed an idea into the home page box first, Buildliy saves it and takes you to sign-up for you.
Choose how to sign up
Click Continue with Google or Continue with GitHub, or fill in Name, Email and Password and click Create account.
If someone gave you a creator code, click Have a creator code? and type it in. You'll see Code applied if it worked. It's optional. See Invite friends for what a code does.
Confirm your email (email sign-ups only)
You'll see Check your email. Open the email from Buildliy and click the confirmation link. Open it in the same browser you signed up in, and it signs you in and takes you on to your dashboard (or to the template you picked). If you open it in a different browser, or click a link from Resend email, your email is still confirmed; just sign in.
Didn't get it? Check your spam folder, then click Resend email. You can ask for a new one once a minute.
Start building
You land on your dashboard with the new-app box ready. If you typed an idea before signing up, it's already in the box (Buildliy keeps it for a day, in the same browser). See Your dashboard for a tour.
You need a confirmed email address to build, to start a template and to receive your free credits. Google and GitHub sign-ups are confirmed automatically.
What a new account gets
Every new account starts on the Free plan:
- 30 credits every month to build with. A typical build or change is about 4–6 credits.
- 10 hosting credits and 2 app AI credits every month for running your apps and the AI features inside them. These are used before your regular credits.
- 1 live app on a free
buildliy.appaddress. - GitHub export, and free click-to-edit changes to text and colors.
Free plan credits refresh each month and don't roll over. To get more credits, a custom domain, more live apps or teammates, upgrade to Pro. See Plans and Credits and usage.
Free credits are limited to one account per person. An account that uses a throwaway email address, or a variation of an email address that has already received free credits, doesn't get them, but it can still upgrade or buy credits. If a lot of new accounts sign up from your network on the same day, your free credits may not be ready until the next day.
A creator code doesn't add anything to the Free plan. It gives you 50 bonus credits if you upgrade to Pro within 30 days of signing up (first-time subscribers only).
Go to the sign-in page
Click Sign in at the top right of the Buildliy website. You'll see Welcome back.
Use the same method you signed up with
Click Continue with Google or Continue with GitHub, or enter your email and password and click Sign in.
Enter your code, if you use two-step sign-in
If you turned on two-step sign-in, you'll see Enter your code. Type the 6-digit code from your authenticator app and click Continue. Lost your phone? Click Lost your phone? Use a backup code.
After signing in you go to your dashboard, or back to the page you were trying to open.
To protect your account with an authenticator app, see Security and privacy. Two-step sign-in is set up in Settings → Security.
Forgot your password?
Ask for a reset link
On the sign-in page, click Forgot password?. Enter the email you signed up with and click Send reset link.
Open the link in the same browser
Open the email and click the link. It signs you in (after your code, if you use two-step sign-in) and takes you to Settings → Security.
Choose a new password
Type your new password twice (at least 8 characters) and click Update password.
For your privacy, the reset page says the same thing whether or not an account exists for that email.
Change your password or sign-in method
When you're signed in, go to Settings → Security:
- Change password lets you set a new password directly, or click Email me a reset link.
- Sign-in methods shows which ways of signing in are connected to your account.
- To add another way to sign in, sign out, then sign back in with that method using the same email address. It links to your existing account automatically.
You can change your display name and email in Settings → Profile. A new email address has to be confirmed before it replaces the old one. See Account settings.
Sign out
Click your name at the bottom of the dashboard sidebar (on a phone, your avatar at the top right) and choose Sign out. Inside a project, click the project's name at the top left and choose Sign out at the bottom of that menu.
To sign out on every device at once, for example after using a shared computer, go to Settings → Security and click Sign out of every device. This signs you out here too, so you'll need to sign in again.
Delete your account
You can download a copy of your data or delete your account in Settings → Danger zone. Deleting gives you 30 days to change your mind, and your apps keep running until then. After that, your projects and any credits you have left are gone. See Account settings before you do this.
If something goes wrong
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Incorrect email or password. Please try again." | Check for typos, or use Forgot password?. If you signed up with Google or GitHub, use that button instead. |
| "That link has expired or was already used." | Sign in if you were confirming your email. If you were resetting your password, ask for a new link. |
| "That link was opened in a different browser from the one you started in…" | Your email is confirmed. Just sign in. For a password reset, ask for a new link in this browser. |
| "Please confirm your email first…" | Find the confirmation email (check spam) and click the link, then try again. |
| "Free credits are limited to one account per person." | This account doesn't get free credits. You can still upgrade or buy credits on it. |
