Account and billing

Account settings

A tour of every Settings section — profile, security and two-step sign-in, notifications, billing, spending, team, design, voice, the developer API, and downloading or deleting your account.

Settings is where you manage your account: who you are, how you sign in, what we email you about, your plan and credits, your team, and your data. Most changes save straight away unless a section has its own Save changes button.

Open Settings

  • Click Settings in the sidebar, or in your account menu.
  • Press Ctrl, (Cmd, on a Mac) from anywhere in Buildliy.

Settings has these sections. On a phone they appear as a row of tabs at the top.

ProfileYour name, email, and how you appear inside Buildliy

Profile

  • Display name — shows in your account menu, and teammates may see your first name. Your avatar is made automatically from it.
  • Email — changing it sends a confirmation email to the new address. Your old address keeps working until you confirm.
  • Bio — one line, up to 120 characters. Only you can see it.

Click Save changes when you're done. Below the form, Try new features early puts you first in line for new AI features. They're tested, but may still change, and you can switch it off any time.

Security

Change your password

Enter a New password (at least 8 characters) twice and click Update password. Or click Email me a reset link to set a new one from your inbox.

Two-step sign-in

Two-step sign-in asks for a code from an authenticator app — such as Google Authenticator, 1Password or Authy — after your password or Google/GitHub sign-in. Someone who learns your password still can't get in.

  1. 1

    Start setup

In Settings → Security, click Set up two-step sign-in.

  2. 2

    Scan the code

Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code. Can't scan it? Type the key shown below it instead.

  3. 3

    Enter the 6-digit code

Type the code your app shows and click Turn on.

  4. 4

    Save your backup codes

Buildliy shows 10 backup codes, once. Copy or Download them, keep them somewhere safe like a password manager, then click I've saved them.

When you sign in, you'll be asked to Enter your code. Lost your phone? Click Lost your phone? Use a backup code. Each backup code works once, and using one turns two-step sign-in off so you can set it up again on a new phone.

While two-step sign-in is on, Security shows how many backup codes you have left. Click Get new backup codes for a fresh set of 10 — your old ones stop working. To switch it off, click Turn off and enter a current code from your app.

Sign-in methods

This list shows the ways you can sign in: Email + password and the providers Buildliy offers — Google and GitHub — marked Connected or Not connected. If you signed up with Google or GitHub and haven't set a password, Email + password shows Not set — set a password above, and the password section is called Set a password. To add one, sign out, then sign back in with it using this account's email; it links up automatically.

Active sessions

Click Sign out of every device to end every session, including this one. You'll need to sign in again.

Notifications

Choose which emails you get, then click Save changes:

EmailDefault
Build finished — every time a build finishesOff
Build failed — when a build doesn't finish, so you can try againOff
Weekly digest — a Monday morning summary of what changed across your projectsOff
Product updates — new features, tips and occasional newsOn
Security alerts — important account and billing noticesAlways on

If you unsubscribed using a link in one of our emails, Product updates shows as off. Turn it on and save to get those emails again.

In this browser has two switches that apply only on this device and save straight away: Tell me when a build finishes (a browser notification) and Play a sound. They only fire when you've switched to another tab or app while a build runs.

Billing

Settings → Billing shows your current plan, its price and what it includes:

  • Upgrade (Free) or Manage billing (paid plans) — Manage billing opens Stripe's secure billing page to update your card and see invoices.
  • Cancel plan — see Cancel your plan.
  • Add credits (paid plans) — your credits left and Buy a pack for a one-time top-up.
  • Auto top-up — buy credits automatically when you run low. See Credits and usage.
  • Your domains — domains you've bought through Buildliy, with their renewal settings (shown once you've bought one). See Custom domains.
  • Creator code — add a code from a creator or friend within 30 days of signing up, before you've paid for a plan. See Invite friends.

Plan changes show up within a few seconds of paying. If you still see your old plan, refresh the page.

Spending

Set spending limits, balance alerts, limits per teammate, and how many credits to keep aside so your live apps stay up. It also has the Auto top-up card. See Spending controls.

Team

Invite teammates (on Pro), set roles, and see the workspaces you've joined. See Teams.

Design

At the top, My brand saves your colors, fonts, logo and tone of voice for new projects. Below it, pick a project, then apply a color Palette, Fonts, or a complete theme from Presets. Each pick is saved as a new version of the app, so you can undo it from the project's build history. On Pro you can also switch off the "Built with Buildliy" badge for that project under Branding, then publish again to apply it. See Design and themes.

Voice

Speak your prompts instead of typing. Hold your push-to-talk hotkey on any page with a prompt box (the home page, your dashboard or a project's chat) to start listening, and release it to add what you said to the box — you still press send — by default CmdShiftM on a Mac and CtrlShiftM elsewhere. Click Change, press a new combination, then click Save new hotkey. Press Esc while listening to cancel. You can also click the mic button in the chat box to start and stop without a hotkey.

Your browser's built-in speech recognition turns your voice into text, so no audio is sent to Buildliy (some browsers use their own online speech service for this). It works in Chrome, Edge and Safari; Firefox doesn't support it.

Developer API

This section is for controlling Buildliy itself from your own scripts, such as starting builds. It isn't available yet — click Join the waitlist to let us know you're interested.

This isn't where keys for services like Stripe go. Connect a service once for all your projects in Connectors, or add a key to one project in Manage → Secrets — see Secrets and API keys.

Danger zone

Download your data

Click Email me my data. We prepare a copy of your account, every project (its plan, notes and latest code), your chats, credit history, domains, and the names of services you connected — never keys or passwords. We email you a link that works for 7 days, usually within a few minutes. You can ask once a day.

Delete your account

  1. 1

    Start the deletion

Click Delete account. Buildliy lists exactly what will happen to your account.

  2. 2

    Confirm

Type delete my account and click Delete in 30 days. We email you the details.

For 30 days everything keeps working and your published apps stay online. Click Cancel deletion any time before then to keep your account. On the deletion day:

  • Your projects — with their chats, builds, databases and files — are deleted, and your published apps go offline.
  • Domains you bought stay yours: renewal through Buildliy is turned off and we email you the transfer codes.
  • A paid plan stops renewing straight away and ends that day. The rest of the period isn't refunded automatically — email support if you need a refund.
  • Any credits you have left, and affiliate earnings not yet paid out, are lost.
  • Records we must keep by law, like payments and invoices, are kept with your name and email removed.
Warning:

You can't delete your account while you own a workspace other people are in. Make one of them the owner or remove them first — see Teams. Want a copy of your work? Use Email me my data before you delete.

Both actions check it's you first. If two-step sign-in is on and you haven't entered a code in the last 10 minutes, you're asked for a code from your authenticator app. If it's off and you haven't signed in within the last 10 minutes, you're asked to sign in again.
