Account and billing
Teams
Invite teammates on Pro, choose what each person can do, share one credit pool, set limits per teammate, and hand over ownership.
Teams come with Pro. Invite as many teammates as you like — there are no per-seat fees. Everyone works on the projects in your workspace and builds from your one shared pool of credits, so you pay for usage, not headcount. The Free plan is just you.
You manage everything from Settings → Team.
How a team works
- Your workspace. Every account has a workspace. When you invite people, they can view and work on every project in your workspace.
- One credit pool. Builds by anyone on your team are paid from your credits — the workspace owner's. Teammates don't need credits of their own for your projects.
- Roles. Each teammate has a role that decides what they can do.
- Their project list. Projects from workspaces someone has joined appear in the Projects list in their sidebar, alongside their own.
Members and Admins can build, so they can see anything your app's code can see — including its secret keys. Only invite people you trust.
Roles
| What they can do | Owner | Admin | Member |
|---|---|---|---|
| Open projects, their chats and code | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Build, edit and publish, using the owner's credits | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Rename projects, edit project knowledge, lock files | Yes | Yes | No |
| Stop a running build (anyone's) | Yes | Yes | No |
| Stop a build you started | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Take a published app offline or put it back online | Yes | Yes | No |
| Duplicate a project | Yes | Yes | No |
| Invite and remove teammates, change roles | Yes | No | No |
| Set credit limits per teammate | Yes | No | No |
| Billing, plan and credits | Yes | No | No |
| Delete projects | Yes | No | No |
| Send projects to GitHub | Yes | No | No |
| Transfer ownership | Yes | No | No |
In short:
- Owner — manages billing, the team, and everything in projects. There's exactly one owner per workspace.
- Admin — builds and manages projects, but not billing or the team.
- Member — builds, edits and publishes any project in the workspace. Members can stop builds they started (not other people's), and can't publish an app that an Owner or Admin took offline.
You'll also see a Viewer role (view-only) marked Coming soon. It can't be used yet.
Invite a teammate
Open the Team settings
Go to Settings → Team. On Free you'll see "Teams come with Pro." with an Upgrade to Pro button instead of the invite form.
Enter their email
Under Invite a teammate, type their email address. New teammates join as Member (the Viewer option shows Coming soon) — you can make them an Admin after they join.
Send the invite
Click Send invite. They get an email with an accept link that's valid for 7 days. If the email can't be sent, Buildliy shows the link so you can copy it and share it yourself.
They accept
Your teammate opens the link and signs in — or creates an account — with the same email address you invited. They land on their dashboard, and you get an email when they join.
An invite only works for the email address it was sent to, and that address must be confirmed. Someone signed in with a different email sees "This invite was sent to a different email address. Sign in with the account that received the invite."
Manage pending invites
Invites that haven't been accepted yet appear under Pending invites, with when they were sent and when they expire. Click Revoke to cancel one. To send a fresh invite to the same address, revoke the old one first. If an invite expires, simply invite them again.
Change someone's role
Only the owner can change roles. In Settings → Team, open the role menu next to a teammate, pick Admin or Member, and confirm. The confirmation spells out what the new role can do. You can't change your own role, and the owner role only moves by transferring ownership.
Shared credits
Every build on a team project is paid from the owner's credits. What everyone sees:
- The owner sees each teammate's usage in Settings → Team — for example "Used 12 credits this month", plus any limit you've set.
- Teammates see "Shared team credits" above the chat box when the pool runs low, and "Ask … to add credits" (with the owner's email address) when it runs out.
- If credits run out mid-build, the build still finishes, and anything past zero shows as owed on the owner's Credits card. See Credits and usage.
Limit a teammate's credits
Give each teammate a share of your credits for building, so nobody uses more than you planned. You're never limited by these yourself.
Open Spending
Go to Settings → Spending and find Limits per teammate. (From Settings → Team, click Set limits per teammate.)
Pick a teammate
Click Set a limit next to their name.
Set their share
Choose Day or Month, then enter how many credits they can use.
Choose what happens
Pick Stop their building (they can't start new builds until it resets or you raise it — their apps stay online, and you can keep building) or Just tell me (nothing stops; we email you when they're close and when they reach it). Click Add limit.
Each teammate can have one daily and one monthly limit. Monthly limits reset on the 1st (UTC); daily limits reset at midnight UTC.
Remove a teammate
In Settings → Team, click Remove next to their name and confirm. They lose access to all of the workspace's projects straight away, and their old invite link stops working.
If your apps use connected services, Buildliy secures the keys it manages for them, and tells you which published apps to publish again to finish securing them. Keys you added yourself in Manage → Secrets aren't changed — if the person could have seen them, replace them with new ones from the service.
Workspaces you're in
If you've joined someone else's team, it appears under Workspaces you're in in Settings → Team, with your role and who runs it. Builds there use the owner's credits, not yours.
To leave, click Leave and then Leave workspace. You lose access to every app in that workspace right away, including ones you helped build. Anything you built there stays in the owner's workspace — it isn't copied to your account — and the owner will need to invite you again if you want back in.
Transfer ownership
The owner can hand the whole workspace to a teammate — for example, when a client takes over.
Find the new owner
In Settings → Team, find the Admin or Member who should take over. They must be on a Pro plan.
Click Make owner
Read the confirmation, then type TRANSFER to confirm.
What changes:
- The workspace's projects move to the new owner, and from then on every build in the workspace is paid from their credits. We email them to let them know.
- You become an Admin and can no longer manage billing or the team. Your own plan, subscription and credits stay with you.
- Only the new owner can transfer it back.
If the person isn't on Pro yet, you'll see "They need a Pro plan to own a team workspace." Ask them to upgrade first.
When your Pro plan ends (for example, after you cancel), your teammates are removed from your workspace and its pending invites are cancelled — your projects stay with you. And you can't delete your account while you own a workspace other people are in — make one of them the owner, or remove them first.
